Has it been recommended they get help? Strong Supervision and Counselling may be able to do just that. We are a new counselling service offering support and appropriate documents for people facing domestic violence matters in Court. We are also offering similar for those with issues with anger and/or alcohol.
We can provide individual counselling to address domestic violence issues including stopping violence, power and control, stress management, relationship issues and communication skills. For those with issues with anger and/or alcohol, we offer counselling to address relevant issues and to support people to manage their emotions positively and to reduce their level of drinking, including to quit.
We can also run group programs for people facing similar issues. The groups run for 8 or more sessions, once a week, and can run at times to suit people who are working (i.e. late afternoon/early evening).
On completion of the group, or an agreed number of individual sessions, the person will be offered a letter of support to provide to you, for the Court. They will also have had the opportunity to complete a Safety/Relapse Prevention Plan which will document their plans to not use violence, or alcohol, and the strategies they will use to keep everyone safe.
The sessions are provided by our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Christine Strong. Christine has been providing support letters for defendants to the Magistrates Court and Murri Court for over five years
